Sites of Convergence: Series #3, Jo-Anne Duggan

I couldn't really decide whether or not I liked this exhibition. Initially I found the rich colours and glossy prints impressive to look at, however after standing and staring for more than a minute I began to loose interest. I started to wonder why Duggan had photographed such desolate scenes... The contrast between the images shot in Italy vs Australia seemed a strange comparison.
Instead of placing people within the environment Duggan chose to let the walls speak for themselves. I think I understood what the artist's intentions were, although personally it didn't captivate me. Even though it was the artists intention to capture the scene without the addition of life i personally feel it could have brought another level to the photographs making them more interesting.
